The road to the Triple Crown began last Saturday with the running of the Holy Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park and the Santa Catalina at Santa Anita. In the Holy Bull, the undefeated Added Edge was sent off the 9-5 favorite. He tired badly to finish last in a field of 13 after chasing the pace along the inside. He had no apparent excuse as he had trained very well leading up to the race. The second choice Bham ran respectably to run third with blinkers off. He set a pressured pace along the inside.
